Love is the fulfillment of the law

“The commandments, "Do not commit adultery," "Do not murder," "Do not steal," "Do not covet," and whatever other commandment there may be, are summed up in this one rule: "Love your neighbor as yourself." Love does no harm to its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.” (Romans 13:9-10)

Thanks, Ann. This is a really good one.

This is a revolutionary facet of the New Covenant, in which the Holy Spirit produces fruit, the primary and greatest of which is love, and thereby guides us, "causes" us, to walk in His ways as He promised when He promised the New Covenant.

If we walk by the Spirit, we will not fulfill the lust of the flesh. The is the simplicity of life in Christ, and Christ as our Life.

Of course, walking in the flesh messes this process up until we are back walking in the Spirit (our goal).

Blessings,
Terry
