Repent for Your Environmental Sins!

Environmentalism replaces the individual transcendence of death found in conventional spiritual religions, with a materialistic creed of subsumption within a biological metaphor. Immortality is not achieved through a community of faith, but an ecosystem. Gaia replaces God as the source of all life, the central relationship for man and the keystone of his morality. Eco-morality replaces human-centered morality. People become just another species in a vast collection of them, no more worthy of respect or protection, than the badger or the snake. Less worthy even, because humanity has overstepped its bounds, through the "original sin" of fire, capitalism and innovation. This time around the "apple" is actually a diesel fueled engine and if we smash enough of them, the spirits of the earth will let us back into the garden where we can all go around naked, live in caves and die at the ripe old age of thirty.

It's insane, yes. But it's also a belief system, one that has given rise to a post-human left, which is far less concerned with the question of human rights, and much more concerned with managing humanity, as if it were an invading pathogen. Environmentalism provides moral cover for the left's disengagement from the issues of human rights that it once pretended to care about. Its coldness toward human beings is a sign of how much it "cares" about something bigger than man. About the whole planet. Suddenly environmentalists aren't sociopaths, even when they make videos featuring the murder of children who don't go along with their creed, they just happen to be supremely caring people who are operating on a level beyond that of mortal men. Their cruelty is actually a higher form of morality.

Same-sex Marriage: How It Will Affect You

Today the Swedish parliament ratified the same-sex marriage as legal. As a Christian I am deeply saddened and horrified by this decision, and recommend this article in consideration of what is about to come:

"The legalization of same-sex marriage will usher in a new era where religious liberties will increasingly become restricted. There’s one word that explains why this will happen: Consistency.
In order for California to be consistent with its new legislation on same-sex marriage, it must restrict the religious liberties of Christians, Jews, and any other group that upholds a one-man-one-woman view of marriage. These groups enjoy privileges and protections given by the state, which now also endorses same-sex marriage. Since the law supports both same-sex marriage and groups who oppose the new
legislation, it’s only a matter of time before pro-gay lawyers exploit the inconsistency.
Soon, some churches may lose their tax exemption status. If they refuse to perform same-sex weddings, it can be argued that the state subsidizes discrimination."

Pro-marriage speech garners professor's profane wrath

After being called a "fascist" by his professor, a Christian California student has filed suit against his college for violations of his free-speech rights.

Less than a month after voters in California decided to amend their state constitution and protect traditional marriage, Jonathan Lopez -- in a public speaking class -- shared his beliefs on faith and marriage. David French of the Alliance Defense Fund picks up the story.

"Jonathan talked about his faith -- and one of the things he talked about in context of his faith was...marriage," says French. "He read from the dictionary definition of marriage. The professor stopped the class, called him a 'fascist b_____d' -- [he] used the expletive -- [and] told the class that anyone who wanted to could leave if they were offended...."

Scientists abandon global warming 'lie'

A United Nations climate change conference in Poland is about to get a surprise from 650 leading scientists who scoff at doomsday reports of man-made global warming – labeling them variously a lie, a hoax and part of a new religion.

Later today, their voices will be heard in a U.S. Senate minority report quoting the scientists, many of whom are current and former members of the U.N.'s own Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

About 250 of the scientists quoted in the report have joined the dissenting scientists in the last year alone.

In fact, the total number of scientists represented in the report is 12 times the number of U.N. scientists who authored the official IPCC 2007 report.

Dr James R. White calls this attempt for what it is, "Newsweek's Blatant Anti-Christian Bias", and in this video offers a great biblical response to it. Warning about false teachers - Oprah

Since January 1st, Oprah Winfrey has been offering lessons on the Course in Miracles by New Age author Marianne Williamson on her satellite radio program. Now she is in the midst of a 10 week webcast with New Age author Eckhart Tolle who wrote a book entitled: A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life's Purpose.

What are these teachings? Ingrid reads quotes from Tolle that attempt to point people to a divinity within themselves, a concept that is wholly unbiblical. Such quotes expose Tolle for what he really is; a promoter of the New Spirituality, or what in the past has been commonly known as the New Age.

Ingrid then introduces Warren Smith who is an author of books on the New Spirituality. As a former New Ager, his books include: Deceived on Purpose: The New Age Implications of the Purpose Driven Church, The Light that was Dark: From the New Age to Amazing Grace, and Reinventing Jesus Christ--The New Gospel.

Who is Eckhart Tolle? Smith says that Tolle was born in Germany and educated in London. He came to public attention through his book, The Power of Now--A Guide to Enlightenment. Smith noted that this was a slow moving book until Oprah Winfrey announced that it was one of her favorites. That helped catapult the book to the top of the New York Times bestseller list.

This Crosstalk looks at the increased presence of this New Spirituality movement. It's an influence that is growing due to the ever increasing desperation of the world. This desperation is causing its proponents to speak more boldly about their false belief that humanity must understand the need for a shift in everyone's consciousness so that we all recognize the Christ within ourselves.

Christianity without Christ

He is simply right

So what that he is an atheist? He is right, and he has to be listened to. Thank you, Dr. James White, for this pointer. Maybe some Swedish liberal watches it and actually starts to think...?
I am so optimistic...

This is what we have ahead of us, especially those of us who work at so called intellectual establishments, where people think they know everything better than God and therefore can deny Him, spit in His Face, call us names.
Am I surprised? Not really. Am I ready for this challenge? You bet. That is why those previous two posts are so important. Please take time to listen to Greg Bahnsen, and please read some articles on Christian logic. The "Jesus loves me"- sentence is powerful, but He wants us to think, as well.

I think that new era has come. Christain apologetics is no longer reserved for a few chosen ones, but needs to be taken up by all of us. Serious apologetics, the one giving DEFENSE of our faith.
I, for one, am going to dig deep into it. For the rest of my life.
