Tragedies of hopelessness

Remember that movie?

Yes. I thought Gwyneth Paltrow did an outstanding job, portraying Sylvia Plath. The depth of her personality, the intensity of feelings, the overwhelming pain she experienced in her broken marriage... Yet that was a real person behind the movie, and a tragic ending. Today this:

May it be that when his mother left him so unrevocably when he was a baby scarred him for life? May it be that children could care less for parents' careers and fame? May it be that what God prescribed for us in the matters of family life is true?
How utterly sad, how terribly unnecessary, how tragic. Thank you, philosophy of despair, thank you, atheists, thank you, God haters. What can you offer instead? This?
