...All must be done in the name of Christ (v. 17): And whatsoever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, according to his command and in compliance with his authority, by strength derived from him, with an eye to his glory, and depending upon his merit for the acceptance of what is good and the pardon of what is amiss, Giving thanks to God and the Father by him. I think most of today’s society has a really hard time with understanding, conceptualizing and accepting the sovereignty of God because they do not understand, cannot conceptualize and as a result cannot accept the Kingdom of God and its King’s absolute and perfect power everywhere and all the time. Lack of reference is one of the elements feeding this massive confusion. Most of believers live in democratic societies where they get ingrained with worldly, human and politically correct concepts of fairness and interaction between citizens and also between citizen and elected government.
This worldly, existential residue of experience justifies and sets up in their minds an expectation of similar concepts in the spiritual realm and understanding of God. This in turn builds a demand for a man centered and man approved bogus theology as Arminian is. Of course, there is much more involved here. Primarily, dark and sinister spiritual forces very much interested in muddling the big picture for the church. Dear Arminian Cede Deo!
