For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities--all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

What a wonderful message. What a wonderful Savior.
Just think - all things, everywhere, and in Him all things hold together.
English Standard Version seemed the best translation here.
Without Christ nothing was made, and without him nothing exists now! This is not only a matter of our salvation, though this alone makes it overwhelming, but this is a matter of everything.
Nothing exists without His power sustaining it. This means that everything is subordinated to Him. This also means that because He is the sole dispenser of salvation by Grace, He has the power to protect His own sheep. We can trust Him without slightest hesitation, now and always. He knows our hearts, He knows our thoughts, He loves us unconditionally, and He promised to never abandon us.
