Strange is this world...

Every Polish person knows these words. A very popular song starts with them. A cult song of a generation older than mine. And every time I promise myself not to be surprised by some different phenomenon, I get astonished, baffled, and finally provoked to dig deep into sources to find the answers.
Have you heard about the Gospel of Barnabas? I haven't, that is until today. Now I know what it is and how to refute its claims. Muslims use this gospel to claim that Jesus talked about Mohammad...

There are fascinating sources to explore, and I think that we have to go to the bottom of the problem. There are some basic questions:
  1. The Gospel of Barnabas and the 1st Century A.D.
  2. The Gospel of Barnabas and Islam
  3. The Gospel of Barnabas and the 14th Century A.D.
  4. When was the Gospel of Barnabas Written?
  5. The Muslim Evidence for the Antiquity of the Gospel of Barnabas
  6. Why was the Gospel of Barnabas Written?
  7. Who wrote the Gospel of Barnabas?
The answers can be read here: http://www.answering-islam.de/Main///Green/barnabas.htm

An even more full explanation and refutation of Muslim claims can be found here: Muslims ask, Christians answer
:

"The Gospel of Barnabas (in the following called BG) was written between the 14th and 16th century after Christ. Two manuscripts exist, one in Spanish and one in Italian (but none in Greek, Latin or Hebrew). In the Christian world it never gained much if any importance, because according to non-Muslim opinion it is part of a series of falsified Gospels which cannot claim any authenticity."

Until now I encountered Catholics, JW's, and atheists. Oh, well, one maltheist. But Muslims?
It is enormously motivating to defend the Bible.

Now to him who is able to strengthen you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery that was kept secret for long ages but has now been disclosed and through the prophetic writings has been made known to all nations, according to the command of the eternal God, to bring about the obedience of faith-- to the only wise God be glory forevermore through Jesus Christ! Amen.
(Rom 16:25-27)
