Simple or twisted (2) ?

2Ti 4:1-4
(1) I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom:
(2)
preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.
(3) For the time is coming when
people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions,
(4) and
will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.

People will turn away from the truth, they will grow weary of the plain gospel of Christ, they will be greedy of fables, and take pleasure in them. People do so when they will not endure that preaching which is searching, plain, and to the purpose. Those who love souls must be ever watchful, must venture and bear all the painful effects of their faithfulness, and take all opportunities of making known the pure gospel. (MHCC)

Still on the same topic, though more contemplatively... After a frequent and heated mail exchange I hit the wall and the charismatic hit the wall, though they were not the same walls. I hit the wall of fear and prejudice, at times showing the teeth of pity over my desperate lack of experiences (sic!), and many calls for repenting and turning to - well, I do not know, what. Zero biblical argumentation, and complete refusal to read what John MacArthur has to say on the matter.
I do not think that the Swedish charismatics know who John MacArthur is.
This reminds me of the time when I went to a bookstore with religious literature and found absolutely no sound-doctrine books. They had "Purpose-driven Madness", but no MacArthur or any theological dissertations. No Steve Camp, either ;)
I turned to a secular net-store and found what I was looking for. This is not an easy country for a Christian...

You brothers and sisters across the ocean have the emerging madness to deal with. I understand the severity of the problems concerned with this phenomenon. We, Bible believing Christians over here have the Pentecostal madness. Growing and prosperous.
Good, believing and trusting people, misled by false doctrine, confirmed in it by phony miracles, healing and experiences, lulled to sleep by an extremely watered gospel, are stuck and not willing to even look out.
God, show Your Mercy and give Your Grace. Open those blind eyes and help them fight the evil.
In Jesus Name.
