Resting and waiting

Saturday. Finally a Saturday, after an extremely hectic week at work. Well, every week is like that when you are a teacher. I do not complain, though, just state the facts.

I am resting now, checking my mail, doing some necessary housework, looking after my children.
I am also waiting, hence those chairs, mental chairs that are empty, waiting to be seated on, I am waiting for some unexpected guests who now have a huge campaign of knocking at our doors and telling us about their image of God. Jehova's Witnesses. In case you do not know, now is a very active period in their work, and you shall see some of them at your doorstep soon. Be prepared. Do not tell them off. Talk to them, show them that you care, show them your Hope and your Lord.

You can take some good pointers while listening to
How to Witness to a Jehovah's Witness by Erich Grieshaber, while you get some good laughs, too. Worth listening and taking notes.
For more systematic apologetics on cults go to
Walter Martin's Religious InfoNet, a site providing answers to life's difficult questions and reasons for faith through the ministry of Dr. Walter Martin.
1Jo 4:1-6
(1) Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
(2) Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
(3) And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
(4) Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
(5) They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.
(6) We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

PS. It is Sunday evening now, October the 22nd. Two girls came by, leaving a brochure about false religions. I invited them back next week, as I felt we did not have enough time to talk.
Pray for me that God may help me show them the true LIGHT of Jesus and His LOVE.

This is very interesting. Thanks for the links, and why is this an active time of year for them? Just curious.
