Search for Spirituality

Every time I open a popular magazine, almost every time I watch TV, very often when I talk to people - I can see it is hype to write, talk or dream about some spiritual value, truth or revelation. Media today are flooded with articles and programs on yoga, crystals, meditation, strange philosophies, inner peace - you name it - it is there.

Some distant places offer many impressing programs of personality boosting by songs, mantras and massages (very special ones), more or less honest people try to make money on healing and various types of dubious therapies, others propose to solve all your problems by looking in crystal balls or by reading satanic cards. Everything goes - except Christianity. Everything is legit - except the Truth of God.

Close to where I live there is a popular fair hall, organizing many fair events with a multitude of themes and targets. The latest one was New Age Fair, which I did not visit, but I heard people commenting on a lot. The most attracted customers are women. They went there in bunches to see, touch, experience and buy. Their husbands were rolling their eyes in dismay and horror - not because they believe all that, but because the wives have suddenly become very different, alert, aware of spirituality, interested in the techniques of meditation, willing to invest money in the things sold there.
I listened to those sad men, and I just wanted to cry out: 'Why don't you supply your women with the real spiritual guidance? They are hungry, starving for truth, but you do not even care!'
I kept silent, because nobody would understand... This is a godless society, yet people feel hunger and look for answers, finding, unfortunately, only the fast food of New Age...

2Ti 3:1-7
(1) This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
(2) For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
(3) Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
(4) Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
(5) Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
(6) For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
(7) Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
